Various other bits and pieces at Ashchurch too. 20154 Test Run  20154 and 20137 worked the last departure from Toddington to Cheltenham Racecourse. This was a test run for 20154 before the Gala in a few weeks time. GWR - Long Marston - Ashchurch  Some recent photographs depicting the movements out of Long Marston, the recent addition at Toddington and some movements through Ashchurch. Toton & Shackerstone The last time I visited Toton was approximately 8 years ago, I popped in to have a quick look from the bank and took some shots. I couldn't get over the amount of class 60's there were lined up. Then we decided to visit Shackerstone briefly to look at the museum on the station. It took over an hour to find the place as the signs weren't brilliant - we arrived to find that it was Thomas The Tank weekend and the platform full of screeming kids... Long Marston Open Weekend The Long Marston Open Weekend was a success but unfortunately it rained on Saturday. The weather picked up Sunday evening and I managed to get some sunny photos before the sun went down! North Yorkshire Visited the East Lancs, Keighley and Worth Valley Railways along with some narrow gauge and museums this weekend. Tornado Tornado Crosses the River Avon at Eckington bridge in Worcestershire with 5Z26 Bescot to Gloucester at 06:10. Tredington + Toddington 66731 worked 5Z80 Kilmarnock to Laira and is seen passing Tredington. 5972 Hogwarts Castle trundles through platform 9 3/4 at Toddington on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Hogwarts Castle 5972 "Hogwarts Castle" is currently at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway and is seen catching the evening light at Toddington whilst collecting water. Eastleigh Works Open Weekend The Eastleigh Works Open Weekend was held form the 23rd to 25th May 2009 raising money for charity. I would like to say well done to all the organisers for putting on such a great show including Chris Milner, Marcus and Bruce at Eastleigh, plus the stewards and anyone else who was involved to piece this event together. Cheltenham Racecourse Foremarke Hall wore the "The Cruxonian" Headboard on Sunday on the Glos Warks Rly. The loco is captured in immaculate condition on the Elegant Excursion. Steam Steel And Stars The Steam Steel and Stars gala on the Llangollen Railway. 87031 At Long Marston 87031 arrived at Long Marston from Tyseley Works on the 14th April. It is understood that the locomotive has been bought by Electric Traction Services. The Great Britain II Over the Easter bank holiday weekend I travelled around Scotland following the Great Britain II tour. Stirling-Kyle of Lochalsh-Inverness-Dundee-Edinburgh-York. GWR Diesel Gala The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway's April Diesel Gala. Severn Valley Railway Took some crackers today on the Severn Valley. Really pleased with the results. They 'Cwm & Go' & Ashchurch 47760 worked an ECS from Eastleigh to Worcester for the Duchess over the S&C this weekend. Odds and sods around Tredington. 37401 hammers through Ashchurch with the Cwm and Go tour, then captured in the evening at Cheltenham Spa throbbing away in the platform. Cheltenham Racecourse Movements at Cheltenham Racecourse on the 22nd March Evesham Harry Needles class 20's no's 20901 and 20905 hauls 37412 37672 and 37029 from Barrow Hill to Long Marston. The English Electric Consist crawls to a stand at Evesham on the 20th March 2009 Blakedown 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley powers through Blakedown near Kidderminster with a railtour to Doncaster. 47760 went light engine from Kidderminster to Doncaster to bring the train back tonight. Hall Silhouette Modified Hall no 7903 'Foremarke Hall' trundles into Toddington silhouetted against the evening sky on the 11th March 2009 with a Paddy Power Race special from Cheltenham Racecourse on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Railtex 2009 Went to Railtex on Tuesday with The Rail Alliance. Plenty to do and lots to see. Steam and Low Loader Steam over the weekend and 56011 heading off To Booths at Rotherham for scrap. South Wales 70013 oliver Cromwell worked a railtour from London to Newport on the 1st March. The ECS resided in Pengam sidings inbetween Newport and Cardiff. Long Marston 66715 hauled a couple of tank wagons - Barrier vehicles from Long Marston to Derby. The train is seen at Long Marston and at Lower Moor. Southern & GWML Visited the Southern region to capture 35028 'Clan Line' and 34067 'Tangmere' haul their separate trains working on the third rail both with a diesel on the rear of the train. On the way home made use of the last of the golden light near Twyford with a few HST's and Units heading in and out of London. South Gloucestershire Miscellany Drove down to Charfield to be amazed by the lineside clearance done just recently, and captured 60085 working 6B13 tanks. Then headed back to Ashchurch to photograph 66303 working 4G09 Chaddesden to Portbury empty coal. Was a good day out, thanks Dom and Scott for sharing the petrol funds with me! The Long Drag 46115 Scots Guardsman climbed the Settle and Carlisle working the Cumbrian Fellsman. It was caught at Settle looking down on the town on the up working, then panned at Armathwaite on the return journey. A pair of class 20's worked a railtour along the S&C as well today with 20303 and 20304 at the helm with 57601 bringing up the rear. Snow At Ashchurch & Gloucester A Few scenes taken at Gloucester with some shunting movements and also 5Z75 OOC-Gloucester. Ashchurch MOD Train 66054 propells into Ashchurch MOD on the former Ashchurch to Evesham branch with a collection of armoured vehicles from Didcot. Great Central Railway Winter Steam Gala The Great Central Railway Steam Gala January 2009. Europhoenix 86's At Long Marston Europhoenix held a press opening presenting the newly repainted class 86's bound for Hungary. Rumours are 86247 is in the Europhoenix livery but the Floyd loco is unknown at the moment. They are seen lined up outside the paint shed at Long Marston. 31415 & 47716 At Gloucester 31415 and 47716 were dragged up to Gloucester from Meldon on the 15th January 2009 and 73103 will follow shortly. The locos are seen in a weathered state with graffiti and rain damage. Cheltenham 66304 on 4G20 Chaddesden to portbury and 66722 on 4G09 with the same destination are seen at Cheltenham along with some other workings, plus some units and virmin. [ More collections ]
